Lions Building Window Art

Exterior view of the Aurora Lions Building

In the past the Aurora Lions Club building has displayed many different pictures along its street level window frames. These pictures depicted events in the history of Aurora, and the Aurora Lions Club, as well. Sadly these pictures were destroyed in the 1997 fire, in which the historic Chambers-Stevens building, the former home of Aurora Lions Club, was completely destroyed.

The Aurora Lions were contacted in 2007, by the Main Street Aurora organization about bringing back the artwork that once decorated the building. Main Street Aurora would work with the Southeastern Indiana Art Guild, and it's members in a new program called "Windows on Aurora". This program provided artwork, which has been installed and displayed in various locations around the town.

The Aurora Lions Club is lucky to have 7 of these pieces of art displayed on the building.
